Archdiocese Of Cotabato On YouTube

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

YouTube is one of the most popular websites on the internet for playing videos. People around the world watch short films or any recorded video. Music is particularly popular. One interesting video that I found on YouTube is all about Cotabato City and its people. Here you can see Archbishop Orlando Quevedo, talking to the media.

Being able to access this video through the internet, is a brilliant idea. The thought of seeing him on this episode, especially to those who know him, will make people very happy, including me. I was overjoyed when I first saw him on YouTube as I haven’t seen him in a very long time.

Be Tender With Me Baby On Youtube

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

One of the things that I do make sure when I’m at home is play music. We have imported all our music into Apple iTunes so they are very easy to find. It just happened that I was playing songs from Tina Turner on my lists that this piece of song really caught my attention. I could really feel the sadness in the music.

Listening and watching a video is completely different. What I did was to go to Google and simply just type exactly the name of the song and write YouTube then click enter. I find that playing Tina Turner’s Be Tender With Me Baby on YouTube several times in a row can be overwhelming. I also like to look at a song’s lyrics while listening to it.

Big In Japan By Alphaville

The German band Alphaville became very famous in the ’80s with “Big in Japan”, which can be viewed on Youtube. There’s more information on the Wikipedia. I really like this song.

Bakit Ba -Siakol

Friday, June 20th, 2008

There are always interesting and amusing videos on YouTube that some people with talents on music broadcast themselves and most of the time you can find really nice tagalog song like this one “Bakit Ba”  The guy on the video playing the guitar is just cool; he played it really well. Just try finding Tagalog songs to play; it’s actually very easy if you know the title of the song you are looking for.

This song “Di Mo Ba Alam” with lyrics on YouTube is very creative. I think that the way the lyrics are displayed in a comic strip is different; it’s like you are reading some sort of story in a comic. Well done.

This video is another version of the same song, “Di Mo Ba Alam”. What I like about this song is that lyrics are included its much easier to sing along than just looking at pictures itself.

Another music video, called “Pagmamahal”, is shown with lyrics.

Joe Cocker – With A Little Help From My Friends

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

When it comes to music Joe Cocker is one of the best singers from the 60s. I just watched his video called “With A Little Help From My Friends” on YouTube. I like the quality of this video that was shown here performing live. I like his voice and I like the way he expresses his real feelings to the song by performing on stage as good and wild as he can. I think he’s a brilliant and a very talented singer. He’s on this video with Bryan May from Queen playing the guitar. This video is quite recent as you can see him that he’s a bit older.

He looks so different on this older version from 1969, when he was 25. It’s incredible the way his looks have changed; he was much slimmer then but he still seems to be a nice guy. When it comes to his voice I think its the same now that he’s older, possibly even better.

He was quite drunk on this video of “You Are So Beautiful” live in 1987, when he was 43. You can see how good he was whilst performing drunk; it’s not easy but I think he performed it well. Some people think that alcohol can help build more confidence. For him I think he just likes to drink, which is not unusual. What I like about him is that he dedicates his songs wholeheartedly to his fans, which is a really nice expression of his affection for his audience wherever he was.

There is more information about Joe Cocker on his official website and on the WikiPedia.

House Of The Rising Sun By Animals On YouTube

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

The Animals are an English band famous in the 1960s for their beautiful song “House Of The Rising Sun”. This song is one of their most popular and it became number one in 1964. I recently found this song on YouTube with the original band playing. The sound quality of the video is very high; its really nice; its just sound live, although it was made and recorded over forty years ago; the sound itself is really good, plus the guitarists are amazingly incredible. The quality of the picture is quite good; its not too bad for four decades from the making. Behind these successful great artists is the deep- voiced frontman Eric Burdon. Thank you to the person who uploaded the video.

Another video of the “House Of The Rising Sun” on Youtube is almost exactly the same performance the slight difference on this video is the quality of the picture; it looks really old and quite blurred. It doesn’t surprise me though since it was made many years ago; things changed in different way and sometimes colour fades. What I liked about this video is that the lyrics are written below; it’s much easier to follow the tunes and know exactly how to sing with it with lyrics on it like as you expect on a karaoke machine. Apart from that I do like the song very much.

There is a lot of information on the WikiPedia about the Animals.
“House Of The Rising Sun” is very popular on the karaoke especially in the Philippines. Most cafes and pubs have this song on their videos; it’s many peoples’ favourite song.

Tagalog Songs By ASIN

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

ASIN is a Filipino folk rock group musicians from the Philippines. The band are well known for their beautiful songs such as “Masdan Mo Ang Kapaligiran” it is the first song they released in the 70s. The YouTube video contains various pictures from the Philippines showing how the people are suffering. It is very difficult to understand why the situation is not getting any better.

I really like this song but in some ways it make me feel very sad though; to think that our country the Philippines is still coping and struggling with the difficulties on the whole situation on how to improve people lives. The whole idea of the this song is sending a clear message to everybody how we can help solve poverty. The Philippines will only be rich if we have a good and honest government. It would be nice if the poor people and the low income would get benefits from the government like giving them some money each month to pay for some of their needs. Here comes the problem not everybody pays tax so, how can the government look after everything else when there’s not enough income. Very difficult.

LolitaCarbon.com has a biography of female artist and lead vocalist Lolita of the band ASIN, which describes a brief history of her life when she started making music and also when the three musicians started and became famous.

YouTube has another version of “Masdan Mo Ang Kapaligiran”, which is an original version with the lyrics on the screen so you can sing along with it, which is quite amusing; it’s better than seeing silly things on the screen.
There is a song called “Himig ng Pag-ibig” on YouTube, which I like to watch. It’s the original version and the video recording quality is good, which is always nice. I’m glad I found some Tagalog songs to play,
I really hope that ASIN is still making music. I think that many Filipino considered them great and some of the most talented artists of all time.
