Two Lovers

This is one of the many flowers we offer to the Virgin Mary at the altar every evening during Flores de Mayo in the month of May. Young children gather together happily in a single line with fresh flowers in their hands just outside the chapel getting ready for the procession. When everything is ready we start to sing praises to the Lord and the Virgin Mary, all the way to the altar.
I still don’t know why they call this flower from Indangan (a barangay of Kidapawan), Two Lovers but I think it is beautiful.

The colour of this beautiful Pachystachys Lutea flower I spotted in the park looks rare and it has a nice character. Its always good to look at the wikipedia article for more information.
