The colours of the flowers in the Botanical Garden of Baguio are attractive. Walking around the park is really nice as you are surrounded with beautiful plants with blooms.

Dahlias In The Botanical Garden
Monday, August 18th, 2008Summer Colourful Blooms
Sunday, August 3rd, 2008I saw this beautiful flower in the park. At first I did not know what it was called but after searching through my books I discovered that it is a Lupin.
Copra
Friday, August 1st, 2008These are dried coconut meat called Copra. You can tell when the coconut is young as it look green from the outside. As it matures it turns browner and browner which indicates that it’s ready for harvest. Soon after that the coconut is split and the meat is taken from the shell and dried under the heat of the sun. When fully dried it look exactly like these in the picture and ready for sale to the trade. I wonder how much copra is sold per kilo today.
Wright Park
Sunday, July 20th, 2008There are so many parks in the Philippines. One of them is Wright Park in Baguio. The green scenery and everything you see around is beautifully looked after. I love this place and it’s really worth seeing.
Tall Coconut Trees
Thursday, July 17th, 2008Trees like these are a common sight in many parts of the Mindanao countryside. I didn’t realise that a coconut tree could grow so tall. It seems impossible to collect the fruit unless they’re mature as they normally just fall out by themselves. Be careful and don’t hang out under a coconut tree because it can be very dangerous; coconuts are very hard and heavy.
Paddy Fields & Mountains
Tuesday, July 15th, 2008This is a paddy field in the beautiful countryside of President Roxas, North Cotabato province on the island of Mindanao.
Magpet Jungle
Monday, July 7th, 2008Rice Paddy
Sunday, July 6th, 2008This is an example of the beautiful scenery in the Kalasuyan countryside. It looks like the farmer decided to leave one of the sections of the field fallow or maybe he will grow another crop. It is certainly too dry to plant rice at the moment. It’s not really surprising that during the summer months some parts of Mindanao farmers experience minor drought; unless there’s an irrigation system provided by the community of Kalasuyan, a barangay of Kidapawan.
Polemonium
Friday, July 4th, 2008Taking pictures of flowering plants like this Polemonium from the garden centre is interesting.
