The City of Kidapawan is looking good, apart from the exposed electric cables above. The streets in many areas have been improved. Like here, you can see that the pavement is stylish; it looks like cobblestones. There are also large plant pots along the main roads which I think are beautiful. This is what happens when everybody who is working pays tax. The money that is being paid is very useful for making improvements like putting up these decorative street lights as well.

Decorative Street Lights
Wednesday, March 4th, 2009Archdiocese Of Cotabato On YouTube
Monday, March 2nd, 2009YouTube is one of the most popular websites on the internet for playing videos. People around the world watch short films or any recorded video. Music is particularly popular. One interesting video that I found on YouTube is all about Cotabato City and its people. Here you can see Archbishop Orlando Quevedo, talking to the media.
Being able to access this video through the internet, is a brilliant idea. The thought of seeing him on this episode, especially to those who know him, will make people very happy, including me. I was overjoyed when I first saw him on YouTube as I haven’t seen him in a very long time.
Animal Statues on Display During City Meet
Thursday, February 26th, 2009What happened few weeks ago, was a celebration of the Kidapawan City Meet. Local schools were also invited to get involved and meet up at the city hall. Soon after that there was a parade all the way through the city centre.
There were also extra attractions like a market with lots of things to buy, which is always interesting. I think that a lot of people appreciated how all these amazing pieces of furniture had been beautifully handmade from reclaimed wood. Like these animals, if you look at them closely, they look like they’re real as all the small pieces of wood have been precisely put together. They look fantastic.
Furniture From Reclaimed Wood
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009A few weeks ago, during the big celebration of Kidapawan City Meet, there was also an event where locals from various towns were allowed to display and sell their products. Loads of solid molave hardwood, which were artistically made into furniture from reclaimed wood, were one of the attractions to look at, just along the main street of the city in Quezon Boulevard. I think that these skillfully and beautifully handmade products are perfect for a patio or garden.
Swing Made Of Reclaimed Wood
Friday, February 20th, 2009These enormous swings were made by local craftsmen from reclaimed wood perfect for patio and garden. I have never seen such large furniture. Do you think it’s comfortable? I don’t mind, I think it’s beautiful. The price of this furniture ranged from P14,000 to P35,000. I think that they had been transported from M’lang, one of the towns in North Cotabato province.
These pictures were taken during Kidapawan City Meet near the Development Bank of the Philippines, Quezon Boulevard, Kidapawan.
Kidapawan City Meet
Friday, February 20th, 2009This is one of the school parades during Kidapawan City Meet, a few weeks ago. I think that these children are happy to be here wearing their majorette uniforms. It’s quite fun.
Baguio Botanical Garden
Wednesday, February 18th, 2009Going to Baguio is an exciting journey especially if you include visiting the Botanical Garden, one of the tourist attractions. If you love plants, this is a really nice place to be; somewhere you can just sit down, look around and appreciate the beauty of nature.
Kidapawan City Hall Gets Makeover
Monday, February 16th, 2009Kidapawan City Hall has recently been enormously improved. I can see that the whole front of the building has been beautifully repainted. Aside from refurbishing, they are also adding some new features onto the roof, one of which looks like a big dome. Domes are frequently built to get lots of natural light into the centre of buildings. I’m sure it will look nice when it’s done.

Lookout Point, Mines View Park
Friday, February 13th, 2009One of the attractions in Baguio is at the top of Mines View Park. Many people go there to hang out and appreciate the panoramic view of the region. It’s quite cool up there, while in Manila the temperature is rather different.
Eva Mall, Kidapawan, is almost finished
Sunday, February 8th, 2009
Last July I uploaded a picture of Eva Mall that was being built along Quezon Boulevard in the centre of Kidapawan. Now, as you can see, there’s a great improvement on the whole face of the building as it’s visible that most windows are done. I wonder what ‘s on the top floor that has a red canopy, perhaps it’s a place where you can see a lot of the city. I wonder if you can get there to have a look the outside. Maybe it will be an expensive penthouse or a nice office.
I wonder what people will think when this department store is finished. I hope that security measures will be checked properly before it opens for business as it’s a high building and things can happen any time.
