St. Mary’s Academy

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Does this picture look familiar to you? I guess not. This modern entrance arch is now the new face of St. Mary's Academy of Kidapawan, formerly Notre Dame of Kidapawan for Girls. I also have loads of photos inside the school grounds including the new classrooms and the gym.

Students who studied here a long time ago would be really amazed to see how their old school has improved. This is so different compared to the old building; which appears to have been knocked down:(.  The design of the new fence of the entrance and the gate is beautiful. I   this place.

Heidelberg Castle Ruin

This is an impressive view of Heidelberg Castle in Germany, one of the famous landmarks, which was built in various stages, starting in the middle ages. As you can see large parts of the castle have been badly damaged and left in ruins. Now, this castle is still one of the attractions in the hills of the city.

Wandering around the centre of Heidelberg is just fascinating. The whole city has a nice character. There is a good selection of restaurants and cafes in the centre including some great places for drinking beer in the sunshine, which is good because Germans like beer. A nice cold beer or white wine is very refreshing in the summer when the days are warm.

Heidelberg is a really nice place to visit. It really helps if you speak some German. Some basic language will do and they do appreciate it a lot if you try to speak.

Dr. Jose Rizal attended the University of Heidelberg, which is one of Europe’s oldest universities, as part of his academic studies.

Central Mindanao Colleges, Kidapawan

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

I have been searching information about schools and colleges in Kidapawan. I recently found the website of Central Mindanao Colleges in Kidapawan, which has told me a lot more about it. I’m not sure how many websites related to Kidapawan there are but I will keep looking.

People are becoming increasingly dependent on the world wide web so it is important for companies and institutions to maintain their websites. This provides access to people from around the world.

Colegio de Kidapawan

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Recently I was surprised to find a new website of Colegio de Kidapawan formerly known as Norcit. This official college website is especially good for those students who graduated here and for prospective students. The graduates are more likely to be interested in checking updates and catch up with what’s going on with their Alma Mater. The prospective students can see what Colegio de Kidapawan can offer them.
I think that there’s a lot of interesting information here. I hope that the college will continue to make frequent updates so that people keep coming back.

This building is Colegio de Kidapawan, formerly Norcit (North Cotabato Institute of Technology). It’s really a shame that all these cables hanging across are damaging the structure of the entire school building. It looks very difficult to get rid of those because they are electric cables and it might be very difficult to move them somewhere not visible. Exposed electric cables are common everywhere in the Philippines so it’s not surprising and I think that we just have to put up with it.

Entrance Gate

This is the entrance gate to my old elementary school in Kalasuyan, near Kidapawan. There used to be just low plants planted in most areas of the whole school. Now it looks so different with all these bigger trees around which means that they can also use it as a shade all the time and it makes the environment cooler as well. What makes it even better is that Kalasuyan is in the beautiful Mindanao countryside.

This is my old elementary school in Kalasuyan. This used to be the only building we had with only four unpainted classrooms in the entire school. We were only children and it didn’t matter that we didn’t have very much. As far as I can remember we were having lots of fun everyday at school playing under the shadows of the trees. I can’t remember If I did well. Everything else I had were fun memories with my friends.

North Point College Of Arts And Technology, Kidapawan (NPCAT)

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

One of the college institutions in Kidapawan City is the North Point College of Arts and Technology (NPCAT). It started in June 2002 in Kidapawan City. It is committed to Competency Based- Education on Technology Program. They use a Modular System, the first ever in Cotabato Province. This institution is accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). It is headed by Mr. Cresencio P. Gaviola, the elected President of the School, and with his very supporting staff.

The institution is not that big compared to the other college institutions in the city. It is a 2 storey building with an extension building at the rear. The main 2 storey building has six rooms, including the NSTP room. The ground floor contains the faculty room, the library, the internet room, the computer laboratory room and the Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Technology (THRT) room. In the faculty room includes the School Registrar office, the treasurer’s office, and the School President’s office.
