I have added various Christmas greetings which are spoken in different parts of the Philippines. Some of this greetings sound very similar to each other when you try to say it in its own accent, particularly the greetings from the regions of Visayas and Mindanao. They all actually have same meaning: “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year” so buy a T-shirt, calendar or one of the many other quality gifts to give to your friends and family.
I found it very interesting to find them. Previously, I only knew how to say “Merry Christmas” in Cebuano and Tagalog; now I know quite a few.
In the Philippines, even in Mindanao, we don’t have Cebuano lessons at school and we were not taught exactly how the words in Cebuano are written or spelled. The reasons I say that is because some parts of the Visayas and Mindanao regions speak almost the same language and the difference is the accent and some of the words but again the meaning is the same.
