PNB Kidapawan

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Philippine National Bank, KidapawanThe Philippine National Bank (PNB) is very popular with those Filipinos who are contract overseas workers and also Filipinos who are residents of other countries. Most Filipinos who live abroad send money back home each month to their families and various banks are available for money transfer. The PNB is widely used by Filipinos to send money bank-to-bank to the Philippines. There are faster ways of sending your money , including Western Union, which can be very useful in an emergency. Western Union can transfer your money to your home town in minutes. The disadvantage is you have to pay a lot more for Western Union.

The PNB has branches all over the world where there are many Filipinos, including Europe, America, Middle East, and Asia (Singapore and others). When it comes to sending money anywhere in the Philippines PNB is number one. Bigger cities and towns always have a PNB branch so it’s really easy through rapid remit which takes between two to three days working days, which is very reasonable given the low transfer cost.

Money Changer in Kidapawan

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

A long time ago Kidapawan only had a few banks and money changers were not very popular either. I’m not sure how people changed their money; I guess the only place to change dollars was go to the bank. Now there are more banks in Kidapawan that change foreign currency like US$, Euros and the well known currencies.

Kidapawan has now two money changers. Sugni Superstore, along Quezon Boulevard, has now a small chain available at the first floor. The money changer accepts Euro, US$, British Pounds and many other foreign currencies.

Kidapawan Megacenter (KMCC) Corporation, located along Dayao St., recently opened another money changer on the first floor.

It is a huge progress; it means that people can easily just go out and go to these places when they want to change their money. The best thing about it is that there’s no queue, you don’t need to wait for long because it’s very rarely busy. It is very simple to compare the exchange rates, and, it is all up to you to decide where to change. The fact that there are only two money changers means you do not have a lot of options but it is good competition for the banks.

How to find ATMs in Philippines and Worldwide

Saturday, December 9th, 2006

I was recently asked by a friend if I could find the location of ATMs in the Philippines that can be used by tourists that do not have a Megalink or other Philippine bank pass. After a little searching I found that Visa, Mastercard, and American Express have search facilities on their websites:
