Seeing this Carabao inside Nayong Pilipino theme park in Pasay City was a big surprise. I was so happy to see such a gorgeous looking animal that I decided to take a photo so I can look at it again. I don’t often see a Carabao unless I go into the Mindanao countryside. You can really find them there just about everywhere. You can see them resting under the shade of the trees and in the fields. Farmers use Carabao to help plough the land so they really do a lot of work for the farmers.

I used to live in the countryside and my brother and I used to ride a carabao on our farm just wandering around the bushes trying to find some bird’s nest but I wasn’t sure what we did with it. I can clearly remember that I used to get beaten by the carabao’s tail each time he wiggled it when he was bitten by mosquitos. It is a wonderful memory.

I do not know if this monkey is endangered. I know that monkeys are not the type of animals you often see in Mindanao unless you go into particular places like this park in Saguing near Kidapawan. He’s inside the cage. I wonder what he’s thinking; he must be feeling bored inside.

Raising sheep in Kidapawan is unusual. Look at the wool. I hope that the farmers are making use of the wool; it is really good for making clothes. Having thick wool makes them really warm. I wonder what they think about the Philippine weather. I hope they’re ok.

I took this beautiful picture inside the butterfly pavilion at the zoo. Butterflies move and fly all the time from one place to the other, only pausing occasionally, and that’s what’s they are like. I was having fun taking this photo; it took a while though. I’m glad it turned out all right.

It was warm weather when I captured this hippopotamus relaxing on the sand just outside his swimming pool in the park. As you can see that this mammal is really huge and weighs about 3 tons. Despite the hippo’s enormous size they can outrun a human for short distances.

I happened to see this small bird in the tree wiggling and watching walkers in the park go by. Maybe he was wondering what was going on around and why the park was so busy and noisy. We will never know what was on his mind.
