Copra

These are dried coconut meat called Copra. You can tell when the coconut is young as it look green from the outside. As it matures it turns browner and browner which indicates that it’s ready for harvest. Soon after that the coconut is split and the meat is taken from the shell and dried under the heat of the sun. When fully dried it look exactly like these in the picture and ready for sale to the trade. I wonder how much copra is sold per kilo today.
